Ricoh launches three new best-in-class light production digital presses

6 June 2011 – RICOH ASIA PACIFIC today launched three new, colour, light production digital printing presses. The RICOH Pro C651EX and RICOH Pro C751EX are scanner models while the RICOH Pro C751 is a printer only model. The systems are ideally suited to meet the needs of print-for-pay providers, digital printers and commercial printers, as well as CRDs and print rooms. They carry a number of unique developments that ensure high image quality and offer a cost effective choice to businesses seeking to expand their medium and short-run print services.

The Pro C751 series features a new laser beam technology, called ‘VCSEL’ (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) that delivers best-in-class output and registration of 4800 dpi for precise reproduction. Superior registration accuracy is achieved through its ability to monitor paper expansion and contraction during warming and cooling. A further key benefit of VCSEL technology is the ability to print fine lines with high clarity and sharpness.

The Pro C751 series is also unique in the cut-sheet production printing market with its new liquid cooling technology which optimises developer temperature for improved productivity.

It also includes active toner density control, enabling stable colour density across longer runs. Its enhanced Operator Replaceable Units (ORUs) maximises uptime and productivity while the ability to replace toner on the fly eliminates the need to stop a print run in-between jobs.

The enhanced media handling for textured and speciality media enables the print service providers to offer more choices to their clients. A wide range of options comprising a new multi-folding unit, a large capacity input tray, ring binder, 100-sheets staple finisher, booklet maker, stacker, GBC StreamPunch Pro EX and Plockmatic booklet maker are made available to increase flexibility,

The RICOH Pro C751 series also includes technological advances available on the RICOH Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition, such as the ability to deliver exceptional productivity by maintaining superior printing speeds on a wide range of substrate weights up to 300gsm. Ricoh’s PxP chemical toner produces consistent offset-like quality and smoother shading; and there is an extensive media library with more than 150 profiles tested at the time of launch supported by a custom library for personalised media profiles.

The best-in-class Pro C751 series produces a wide variety of printed materials for the quick-turnaround demands of the light production sector. Applications such as booklets, flyers, mailing pieces, reports, photo albums and books on demand are all ideally suited for the Pro C751 series. Equipped with the new EFI E41A print server, all three models support differing workflow environments for smooth integration into existing operations. Furthermore, the devices have also been designed to connect seamlessly with Ricoh’s integrated range of TotalFlow solutions.

Tony Muroiwa, General Manager, Product & Solution Marketing Group, Ricoh Asia Pacific says, “We marked significant success in the production printing industry with the introduction of our RICOH Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition. With the new addition of the Pro C751 series, Ricoh’s ability is further enhanced to address the growing needs of the light production segment. It is a revolutionary combination of the cutting-edge technology and benefits that will help the print service providers to keep abreast of today’s fast changing business environment”

These models will be introduced to the markets in Asia Pacific region through a phased approach this year from August onwards. Kindly contact individual countries for the local launch schedule.
